The deluxe version is preferable because and only because it comes with MM 6.Heroes 6 Patch 2.1.1 released - Heroes 7(VII). MM X is limited, because experience in the game is capped and you only have time to partially develop your characters who never reach their full potential before the game ends, but what is there is pretty good, worth purchasing even if it did not come with MM 6. Even though missing free movement and flying it contains the Expert, Master, Gramdmaster progression with each much more powerful than the previous. MM X isn't a bad game either even if it was a rather misguided attempt to revitalize the series (going back to MM 4 and ignoring the greatness of MM 6-8).
